Day 39 - Post Mid Presentation

So, one of the things franklin asked me to work on was the camera, and since he did help me with the folding, i gota show that , and it was quite a big deal earlier on, so i reused back the old camera, and rendered a fixed version, where the lighting and the noise were less visible.

I cleaned up my scene and created textures from the scans i got. I then ported them into the houdini project. So now i have to deal with the floor. The floor i've decided to make a static terrain made up of nothing but scattered paper. To do that i used scatted points and then instancing the points, so that it doesn't take up too much ram, i then applied displacements through the normals via sculpting of a grid. That was a really long sentence. Anyways, yeah.

I got that down, but then my problem was that now i have to texture the waves of papers differently as they are currently reading off the material of my grid which uses just one texture. I asked joyce and she showed me how she did hers, but the problem is she used copy, but i'm using instancing, so there is some difference in that, currently there are like 4500 points x4. and each one creates a grid 1x1 with 2rx2c, if i use a copy node, the program will lock up and crash. Unless there is another way to do it, which i think i'll ask tommorow.

Guys are asking me to go now, have to go to the marina del rey for movie. Why so far you ask? Cause, it was the only participating theater. They found an offer where 4 movie tickets would cost 5$ each, normally about 10$. So, yeah.

I realised i didn't talk about the weather much, guess what when we came to santa monica ziggy promised us that it never rains here. And guess what, oct, 3rd,4th,5th,6th, it rained here. Sunday, monday, tuesday, wednesday it rained. Quite a rarity it is. anyways gota go to bed. cya.
